On to new chapters. Students at Chardon Schools opened Chromebooks Monday before their school board closed the chapter on labor negotiations, voting unanimously to accept a two-year contract with Chardon teachers. It was the first day of school after a short summer. And the long debates within the district were over. No teacher strike. No privatization. Superintendent Michael Hanlon gave an overview of some of the contract’s final details: Teachers will pay gradually higher health care percentages in school years 2015-16 and 2016-17.
