Newbury Township officials are planning ahead for the community’s bicentennial celebration in 2017, trustees said last Wednesday. “A 200th birthday only happens once, so we’re gonna do it up big,” Trustee Glen Quigley said. History has always been a source of pride in the semi-rural community. Newbury served as a center for women’s suffrage in the late 1800s, when Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton visited the township and spoke on women’s rights.
