A Willoughby woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after her car crashed into a utility pole in Chester Township.
Caitlin Skiles, 18, was traveling south of Sperry Road when she failed to negotiate a right hand turn on Ranch Drive and crashed into a sign, striking a utility pole off the roadway, according to a Ohio Highway Patrol news release.
Skiles, who was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry, was not wearing her seatbelt, the OHP said.
The crash happened at 10:20 p.m.
Skiles was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries, the OHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Chester Township Fire, Munson Township Fire and Chester police helped with the incident.
