A building plan summary for the proposed Berkshire-Newbury consolidated high school illustrated probable costs and elicited numerous comments during a listening session at Berkshire Schools Feb. 11. A 1,007-student school for grades seven through 12 on property donated by Kent State University Geauga, would cost $43.7 million, according to calculations presented by Sean Thompson, architect with Stantec Inc. Thompson went through the formula used by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to determine what kind of building it will fund and how much in local matching funds will be necessary.
