Middlefield Village Mayor Ben Garlich and council members will not receive a cost of living pay increase in 2016 after council voted March 10 to waive the annual increase. “We did not give the increase to our employees and we will not receive it either,” Garlich explained. “We did make contributions into employees’ health savings accounts.” The mayor said without the vote to waive the increase, it would have been given automatically, according to village rules.
