Started in 1996 by Daniel Fisher, D & S Farm and Garden, LLC was founded while searching for organic inputs. Over the last 20 years, D & S has grown to encompass a comprehensive variety of farm supply retail. Since 2015, management of the company has transitioned to Daniel’s sons, who aim to continue to serve their grass-fed, non-G.M.O. and organic market.

D & S now carries seed, feed, fertilizer, nursery stock, fruit trees, gardening tools, livestock minerals, pet foods, organic cereals and health foods.

“What you will find at D & S is the area’s largest variety and selection of organic product,” said Marvin Fisher, a son and successor to Daniel.

With spring plantings coming up, D & S can help you prepare with soil testing kits and consultations for larger growers looking to maximize the impact of their fertilizing efforts. For those raising livestock, D & S offers their custom Legacy Feeds line; feeds mixed without GMO’s, antibiotics,

hormones, or animal byproduct. With a seed election of well over 350 varieties, D & S supplies both hobbyist gardeners and large planters with thousands of acres. Their selection includes many varieties of hay, grains, cover crops, and vegetables, just to name a few.

D & S has a good habit of listening to customer’s needs and adjusting their inventory accordingly, no doubt contributing to their success. Victor Pet Foods were added recently, in response to pet owners searching for food that did not contain the corn, wheat, soy, gluten, or other processed grain product often used as filler in other feeds. For serious pet owners, “Victor is a great one” said Marvin, “Since 1950, it’s been made in the USA and has never had a recall.”

For those looking to connect with D & S for consultation, they can be reached at 440-693-4632, or visit in-store at 4738 Gates East Road, Middlefield. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
