A robbery June 25 at the Chase Bank branch at 8501 Tanglewood Square in Bainbridge Township remains under investigation.
At 1:16 p.m. Saturday, Bainbridge Township police received a 911 call reporting a man — possibly in his 50s , wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and orange-tinted sunglasses — handed the teller a note and a bag, but did not brandish a weapon, according to Bainbridge police.
The suspect took the cash and ran to his black Honda Civic parked behind the Giant Eagle store and drove south on state Route 306, witnesses said.
Aurora and Solon police were alerted and the sheriff’s dispatch received another 911 call saying the man appeared to have a weapon in his back pocket at the time of the robbery.
Efforts to secure security video from surrounding businesses were not successful because store managers were not available, officials said.
A photo was provided by bank security cameras.
Bainbridge Police Chief Jon Bokovitz said the suspect did leave the bank with some money and the Ohio Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are working on the case.
