The Chardon Community Action Team has awarded scholarships to Chardon High School graduates Sydney Kamm, Oliva Weisenbach and Alison Whitney.
CCAT works in the community to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs among Chardon youth through education and activities.
Every year, the Chardon Community Action Team sponsors a number of events such as its annual Car & Motorcycle Show, this year to be held on Aug. 14, making this scholarship possible.
CCAT reviewed more than 18 appellations from applicants who have chosen to grow up without the influence of alcohol, drugs and tobacco in their lives.
Each applicant not only met all scholarship criteria, but exceeded them.
“Congratulations to each and every one of the applicants who applied for this scholarship that our group offered,” said Coco Griffis, chairman of the CCAT Scholarship Committee. “It is truly a great thing to see so many fine youth choosing to live a healthy life.”
