The Geauga County Educational Service Center has named Jennifer Felker as its new superintendent.
Felker currently works for the Ohio Department of Education as associate superintendent, division of learning, where she oversees the Center for Curriculum and Assessment and the Center for Student Support and Education Options.
She most recently served as director of curriculum and instruction for Orange City Schools and previously was the assistant superintendent and superintendent pro-tempore of the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County.
Prior to that, she was the special education supervisor at Olmsted Falls and Maple Heights City Schools, a teacher and an elementary principal in Brooklyn City Schools and teacher for Toledo Public Schools.
Felker will assume her duties as superintendent at the Geauga County Educational Service Center in Chardon on Aug. 1. She is replacing Matthew Galemmo who is retiring after 32 years as the superintendent.
