Geauga County Job and Family Services would like to remind Geauga County residents that there are several programs available to help low-income individuals and families needing assistance with the cost of heating their home.
This season’s extreme temperatures might have caused many households to consume a greater than normal amount of heating fuel. For low-income households this can create a real financial hardship.
Programs that assist with providing bulk fuel delivery as well as past due regulated gas and electric bills are available through Geauga County JFS.
Applications are accepted Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for the Home Energy Assistance Program – Winter Crisis Program, Community Services Block Grant, and the Prevention, Retention and Contingency program.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to receive assistance and they differ with each program.
Applications are available at Geauga County Job and Family Services, 12480 Ravenwood Drive, in Munson Township.
