Big Leaf Basketball Raises Money
The 2017 Big Leaf Basketball Elementary Showcase was held at Cardinal High School on Feb. 20.
The 132 participants over six games benefited Skylar Scarnecchia, a 5th grade teacher at Champion Elementary who has a rare former of cancer, said the event and league founder Matt Janssen.

There was also a 3-point shootout, free throw contest and raffles raised from the 25 different schools in six counties, including Berkshire, Cardinal, Chardon, Ledgemont and NDCL.
Sierra Berman of Ledgemont Elementary was selected as the girls Most Valuable Player.
Based in Geauga County, Big Leaf Basketball has operated a 84-team league this year and multiple leagues.
This past year Big Leaf partnered with Ohibasketball.com and SMAC Basketball to help grow the product in its infant stages.
