The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 10-16. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 364 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Feb. 13
11:28 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. There is someone walking their dog at the park next door and it is off the leash. The dog was coming towards the kids at recess. The school would like a deputy to tell the owner to keep the dog on the leash.
SUSPICIOUS
Feb. 10
3:34 p.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Male and female are having sexual activity in their car parked outside the apartments. Vehicle is blue. The male walked back into TLC. Deputy spoke with staff at the TLC and the two males. No criminal activity was observed. One of the involved males had a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody. He was transported to the jail without incident.
Feb. 13
1:43 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Callers dog went missing a week ago and now she thinks it was taken and would like to file a report. Deputy responded to location and talked to the complainant. Complainant advised that both dogs broke free a few days ago, but only one returned home. Unknown if the dog (white and brown full Pit) is still loose or was taken. Dog is question is not licensed through the county, nor has a chip. Dog has a grey faded collar. Complainant already contacted dispatch and Geauga County Dog Warden about the missing dog.
Feb. 15
2:56 p.m., Stafford Road, Auburn. 14-year-old daughter got home from school and noticed footprints in the snow around the house. All door were secured and she is now home. Tracks in the snow around the residence and onto the back deck. It appeared the suspect had looked into the back window on the deck, but did not appear the suspect attempted to enter the home. The tracks then went off the deck and back to the driveway. Complainant requested extra patrol of her residence during the day.
WEAPON OFFENSE
Feb. 11
1:28 p.m., Stonegate Drive, Munson. Someone is shooting a weapon at the end of Stonegate. I know they are killing deer. I live on Riverwood; myself and other neighbors on Riverwood can’t take that they are killing deer. Deputy unable to locate and spoke with the complainant.
