The Geauga County Democratic Party will host a discussion on “Voting in America” on March 16 at the Geauga County Democratic Headquarters and Social Hall, 12420 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for networking, with a speaker following at 7 p.m.
Guest Speaker Dr. Molly Sergi, Ph.D., lead faculty of history at Kent State University’s Geauga campus, will discuss the changes that occurred over the decades regarding who could vote and who could not.
She will address the changes with the Constitution and suffrage.
There will be an examination of some of the most sensational elections in history, lop-sided wins and losses, and corruption in voting.
