VILLAGE OF MIDDLEFIELD, OHIO

LEGAL NOTICE
The Village of Middlefield will accept sealed bid proposals for the 2017 SOUTH WATER REHABILITATION.
This project includes the interior cleaning of the sediment, sandblasting the interior of the existing South Water Tower, epoxy primer and epoxy surface coat of interior, exterior cleaning, rust removal, spot priming and finish coat of acrylic paint along with other work on the existing South Water Tower.  Water Tower Gate, Wastewater Treatment Plant gate and gate operator and radio receiver.
The Engineers estimate for this project is: $150,000.00
Bids will be received at the office of the Clerk of Council of The Village of Middlefield, located at 14860 North State Avenue, P.O. 1019, Middlefield, Ohio 44062-1019  until 12:00 (Twelve) Noon local time on FRIDAY, May 5, 2017, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code in favor of Village of Middlefield.  Bid Security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety the purpose of which shall be to assure that the bidder, if determined to be the lowest and best bidder, enters into a contract with the municipality and that the bid bond so posted is to be paid to the Village as stipulated or liquidated damages in case of failure or refusal to enter into the contract as provided. The bonds of unsuccessful bidders will be canceled and the checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned.
Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein.  Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than September 1, 2017.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Geauga County and Village of Middlefield, Ohio, as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239.
Each sealed proposal shall be clearly marked on the front of the envelope “Sealed proposal for the 2017 SOUTH WATER REHABILITATION.”
No bid will be considered unless it is delivered to the office of the Clerk of Council prior to 12:00 (Twelve) Noon, local time, on FRIDAY, May 5, 2017 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read.
Village of Middlefield reserves the right to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder and further reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
