Auburn Township Trustee John Eberly told a member of the zoning commission Monday that he is convinced that a proposed noise amendment may be a good idea after all. Trustees have continued a required public hearing on the controversial issue twice during the last few months, and had indicated they thought the proposal, involving monitoring noise levels at township businesses, was unenforceable and precedent-setting. One zoning official, who does not support the proposed amendment, told the Maple Leaf last week that the Geauga Prosecutor’s Office had advised against the measure because infractions would be difficult to defend in court.
