AAN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT/AGREEMENT WITH LAKE COUNTY LANDSCAPE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
An ordinance authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Lake County Landscape for construction of sidewalks which are included in Round 4 of the 2017 Sidewalk Repair Program in the amount of $154,656.43.

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE OFFICIAL INTENT AND REASONABLE EXPECTATION OF THE CITY OF CHARDON ON BEHALF OF THE STATE OF OHIO TO REIMBURSE ITS INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE CLARIDON ROAD & EAST KING STREET IMPROVEMENTS (OPWC PROJECT NUMBER CG46U/CG47U) WITH THE PROCEEDS OF TAX EXEMPT DEBT OF THE STATE OF OHIO.
A resolution authorizing the clerk to file a resolution with the OWPC to receive reimbursement from bonds issued by the State of Ohio in the amount of $1,010,600 for improvements on Claridon Road and East King Street.

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF REPAIRING AND RECONSTRUCTING CERTAIN SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY OF CHARDON; REQUIRING THAT ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS TO REPAIR OR REPLACE SIDEWALKS; RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING NOTICES; AUTHORIZING REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF SIDEWALKS AND, IN CERTAIN CASES, PROVIDING FOR ASSESSMENT OF COST; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
A resolution declaring the necessity of repairing and reconstructing certain sidewalks in the City of Chardon; requiring that abutting property owners to repair or replace sidewalks; ratifying and confirming notices; authorizing repair or replacement of sidewalks and, in certain cases, providing for assessment of cost, Round 5 of the Sidewalk Improvement Project for designated parcels on Center Street, 7th Avenue, 5th Avenue, Meadowlands Drive, Water Street and 241 Main Street.

Geauga County
Notice is hereby given that the County of Geauga, within the State of Ohio, is applying to the Ohio Department of Transportation for the following 2018 grant: CY 2018Rural Transit Program (49 USC Section 5311) GRANT. The operating grant will provide financial assistance for public transportation service for the residents of Geauga County CY 2018. The service will operate Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fares are $6.00 per one-way trip; elderly and disabled ride for $3.00 per one-way trip. The capital grant will provide financial assistance to purchase two wheelchair lift-equipped light transit vehicles. The E & D grant will provide State funds to offset the half fares offered to elderly and disabled passengers. The Geauga County Board of Commissioners invite comments and/or written proposals from all interested Public, Private and Paratransit Operators, including taxi operators regarding the proposed continuation of service and the purchase of replacement transit vehicles.
A public hearing will be held at an accessible location on September 26, 2017 at 9:35 A.M. during public session of the Geauga County Board of Commissioners, located at 470 Center Street, Building 4, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Notice is hereby given that sealed bids marked as “KIWANIS LAKE COMMUNITY CENTER RENOVATIONS” will be received during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in the Geauga County Board of Commissioners Office at 470 Center Street, Building #4, Chardon, Ohio 44024, or by mail at the same address. Bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud the same day at said office at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
The specifications will be available for inspection at the Department of Community & Economic Development, 470 Center Street, Building #1-A, Chardon, Ohio, during normal business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday from Thursday, August 24, 2017, UNTIL 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017. The bid packages may be purchased for $25.00 (CHECK ONLY AND NON-REFUNDABLE), and payable to Geauga County Board of Commissioners, or mailed at the expense of the purchaser. Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in the amount of 100% of the total bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the aforesaid Geauga County, or by a certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount, in favor of the aforesaid Geauga County. The Bid Guaranty must be submitted as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a proper contract in accordance with the bid, plans, details, and bills of material will be entered into and its performance properly secured.

A 100% Performance bond will be required from the approved bidder prior to entering into a contract. Bid, Performance and Maintenance bonds shall be issued by an approved surety company authorized to transact business in the State of Ohio and said company shall have local representation. All Bid, Performance and Maintenance Bonds shall be accompanied by proof of authority of the official or agent signing the bond. Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements of this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages and various insurance requirements.
Geauga County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, and to waive any informalities and/or irregularities in the bids. The County’s decision on any award is final. Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of national origin, creed, color, or gender.
