Tuesday morning Geauga County Sheriff’s Office deputies along with agent from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at 7071 Ledge Road in Thompson Township.
Authorities seized approximately 1,100 marijuana plants valued at approximately $5 million. Also seized was marijuana cultivation equipment, equipment to make marijuana butane hash oil as well as approximately $40,000 cash.
Three people — two men and one woman — were taken into custody.
Tuesday’s raid was one of four related each warrants executed in Northeast Ohio, Sheriff Scott Hildenbrand said.
“This is one of the largest indoor grow operations uncovered in Northeast Ohio,” Hildenbrand said. “We worked in cooperation with the DEA and BCI (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation) to put this multi-million-dollar business out of operation.”
According to Geauga County Auditor’s Office property records, James L. Nagy, of Willoughby, owns the Ledge Road property.
Nagy also owns Shiny Car Auto Detailing on Beech Street in Willoughby, another of the properties raided Tuesday morning.
