Geauga County will soon join the rising tide of municipal organizations adopting modern technology with the purchase of a drone. At the Nov. 21 Geauga County Commissioners meeting, Geauga County Department of Emergency Services Director Roger Peterson asked for a supplemental appropriation of $25,000 to fund the developing program. Reached by phone, Peterson said none of the appropriation for the program is coming out of the general fund, but is part of money that has already been allocated to the emergency preparedness budget and is made up of grants and other funding sources.
