Holiday Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are being sought to pick up and deliver meals for the upcoming holiday season. The Geauga County Department on Aging volunteers will deliver meals to seniors who are alone on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Volunteers pick up one holiday meal per route at the Chardon Senior Center, drive it to the senior’s home and spend some time visiting.

All meals are delivered from the Multi-Purpose Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Chardon.

To register as a volunteer, call the department on aging at 440-279-2130.

  • Mystery Holiday Craft Project: Dec. 12, 10:30 a.m.

  • Podiatry Appointments: Dec. 14, 1-2 p.m. Call for an appointment with Dr. Ritz.

  • History of Christmas Songs: Dec. 8, 12:30 p.m. Meet at Chardon Library to hear a presentation by Eric Coulbourne from GCPL about the songs of the season.
  • Book Club: Dec. 11, 1 p.m. Join book club offsite to discuss ”The Thirteenth Gift ” by JoAnn Huist Smith. Call for more information.
  • It’s a Wrap: Dec. 15, 12:30 p.m. Hospice of Western Reserve will help wrap gifts. Wrapping paper and treats will be provided, seniors just bring gifts that need wrapping.
