West Geauga High School graduate Curt Williams, now a senior at Kenyon College, has been named to the 2017 All-North Region Team. Selected as a member of the third team, Williams became Kenyon’s second all-region honoree in the past two years and the fourth since the 2007 season.

During the 2017 season, Williams started all 10 games for the Lords and led the team with 143 tackles (70 solo, 73 assisted). Among those tackles were 9.5 for losses and 1.5 quarterback sacks. Additionally, he had one interception, seven pass break-ups and forced one fumble.

Both his tackle total and his average of 14.3 tackles per game were the best marks in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). At the national level, those same numbers ranked second among all NCAA Division III players. His output of 70 solo tackles ranked third among all Division III players.

Williams, a three-time All-NCAC selection, exits the program with 375 career tackles, a number that ranks 11th in Kenyon history. His career numbers also include 375 tackles, 21.5 tackles-for-loss, 32 pass break-ups and six interceptions.

Williams was all named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District squad. To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes had to be of at least sophomore standing, possess legitimate athletic qualifications and own a minimum grade point average of 3.30 or better.

Williams also named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference.

Williams made the jump to the NCAC’s second team after being an honorable mention selection the last two seasons. The safety from Chesterland, Ohio racked up a conference-high 143 tackles, an average of 14.3 per game. That mark also ranked second in the nation. He also tallied 9.5 tackles-for-loss, seven pass break-ups and an interception. Additionally, Williams tallied at least 12 tackles in nine of 10 games this season.
