Happy, Blessed Easter
I want to wish all of you a very blessed, happy Easter 2014.
As Christians around the world celebrate Holy Week, which depicts the final days of Christ’s life, including His betrayal for 30 pieces of silver, His wrongly-accused condemnation, agony and crucifixion and His miraculous resurrection, we celebrate Easter Sunday knowing that He died for our sins and for our eternal salvation.
His gift gives us eternal life. May you spend valuable time with family and friends at this special time of the year, 2014 years after His birth in a stable.

Beginning at 7 p.m. April 17, the Geauga County Tea Party will host a Candidates’ Night at The West Woods Nature Center.
The following people have been invited to speak: Matt Lynch, U.S. Congressman David Joyce, Skip Claypool, Geauga County Commissioner Mary Samide, Linda O’Brien and Sarah LaTourette.
Other candidates who attend will also have the opportunity to speak. Refreshments will be served.
The West Woods is at 9465 Kinsman Road, Russell Township.

Comment for The Day
I was truly saddened when I hear of the passing of Shirley McNaughton, who went to meet her Lord two weeks ago. She worked for many years at the Chardon Public Library and she will be fondly remembered for her love of life, her family, the library, the community and, yes, her lighthouses.
We certainly had fun one Christmas at the beautifully-decorated home of Janice Balken where Shirley was the guest of honor. Everyone had a wonderful time, especially Shirley. She will be dearly missed.
Jim Anderson did a wonderful job as he inspired all of us in attendance at the celebration of her life. God bless her family and we all share in their sorrow.
