In an email to Chardon parents Wednesday afternoon, the district stated:
“Student safety and security is our highest priority. At approximately 11:15 AM today Chardon Schools began to experience an intermittent power outage.
Maple Elementary is without power but is partially running on a generator to provide auxiliary lighting. Phone back-up batteries will be cycling off shortly, but the school maintains radio communications with Chardon High School and the Administration Building. If you need to call Maple Elementary for anything, please call the board office at 440-285-4052.”
It continued: “Chardon Middle School has partial power. Phones at the school are working.
Food Service at both schools was completed and lunches have been and are being served.
The district is not considering early dismissal.
We are awaiting information on an estimtated time for power to be restored and we will follow up with an updated message as soon as we have this information.”
