For a second time, a meth lab has been found and disabled on Kinsman Road in Middlefield Township, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office said today.

On May 2, Paul J. Larose, 34, had just finished making methamphetamine when detectives arrived at his residence, 17483 Kinsman Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Larose was arrested and charged with manufacturing the drug, a second-degree felony. Tamara Joy Layne, 29, who lives with Larose, was also arrested and charged with Illegal Assembly of Chemicals, a third-degree felony.

Both appeared in Chardon Municipal Court; Larose was given a $50,000 cash or surety bond; Layne’s was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Detectives removed another meth lab from that residence on Aug. 16 of 2013. James Lee was charged with that crime and is serving a four-year prison sentence from the incident, the sheriff’s office said.

Working with the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, Geauga County detectives arrested Robert C. Duke, 44, and Wendy A. Beirer, 43, for possessing the chemicals used to make meth, a release further stated.

Duke and Bierer were being interviewed at their 5965 State Route 322 residence in Windsor Township when detectives discovered a meth lab. Ashtabula County sheriff’s deputies were notified and responded.

Both were charged in Chardon Municipal Court May 6 and received a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Charges are now pending against Duke and Bierer in Ashtabula County on the second-degree felony charge.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office handled the cleanup of that lab, the release stated.
