During a July 9 work session, Newbury Schools Board of Education members discussed the immediate need for more than $700,000 in capital improvements to the district’s physical plant. The talks come at a time when no one is certain the district will continue to remain independent. Superintendent Michelle Kalish gave the board a list of improvements in the order she believes they are needed. Topping the list is the bus garage parking lot, which needs about $40,000 in repairs.
