Since July 2017, the Geauga County Building Department has issued over 1,000 building permits, which translates to around $80 million in construction costs spent in the county. These figures were presented as part of a report to Geauga County Commissioners at their Aug. 21 meeting from Dave Favorite, who, in March, was named executive director of the county’s new department of development, which includes the building department and the community and economic development department.
