The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, 2018. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 359 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Sept. 28

8:56 a.m., Aquilla Road. Horse running in the roadway, between Tewksbury Lane and Aquilla Village. UTL.

Sept. 29

9:27 p.m., Chickashay Lane, Auburn. There was a group of kids having a campout in the duck house. Deputies able to get in contact with father regarding juveniles stating there is a coyote. Father said there is no coyote, everything OK. Juveniles mistook barn animals for a coyote.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Sept. 30

11:33 a.m., Terrace Drive, Middlefield. Complainant wanted to know if it was a form of abuse if her husband will not give her money, gas for her car or a place to live. Also, if it was a form of abuse if her husband tells her to go “sleep with someone for money.” Advice given along with contact information for JFS and Copeline. Cleared IR only.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Sept. 28

9:20 p.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Two vehicles having a dispute in parking lot. Driver of Ford F350 threw something at caller’s windshield; they pulled off into King Cone and starting fighting. Driver claimed other driver threw tobacco juice at their truck because they were driving behind them. Statements obtained and possible CPO violation.

DISORDERLY

Oct. 2

1:49 p.m., Mayfield Rod, Claridon. Male customer came in irate. He threatened to rob the store. Sitting in car. He was yelling. Two women were in line before him. Not sure what his problem is.

FRAUD

Oct. 2

3:28 p.m., Zrolka Drive, Huntsburg. Caller states someone put a hold on her mail then forwarded it to Virginia. They have also tried to open nine different credit cards in the last two days. Report taken.

Oct. 4

1:49 p.m., Old State Road, Parkman. Caller had approximately $30,000 taken out of his bank account, but he did not have any paperwork on him. Said he already reported this to his bank. He was provided with deputy business card and report number, and advised if he needed an official report he needed to provide some paperwork showing the transactions.

INTOXICATED PERSON

Sept. 29

12:20 a.m., Merritt Rod, Munson. Male in the lobby, possibly intoxicated, requesting to be taken to jail. Possibly the male from UH Geauga who did not have a ride. Male transported to jail.

SUSPICIOUS

Sept. 28

11:22 a.m., Huntley Road, Huntsburg. Sex offender has been seen hanging around the school. She would like to make a report. Report taken.

7:45 p.m., Butternut Road, Munson. At approximately 5 p.m. today caller found a 2-year-old female in the road riding on Butternut. Caller said mother was passed out in garage. Lots of chickens in the yard as well as lots of kids stuff and strollers. Also an 8-year-old girl at house. Met with mother and she advised her 2-year-old daughter had just learned to unlock doors and she unlocked the front door earlier in the day and walked out without her knowing. All parties checked OK.

Sept. 29

1:47 a.m., Mumford Road, Troy. Male with a flashlight and a rifle. Resident was out trying to take care of a nuisance critter that turned out to be a skunk, so he decided not to. He was in possession of a shotgun; male checked OK.

Oct. 1

4:29 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Owner of Subway reports his employee had a customer follow her into the restroom and lock the door. Male turned off the lights and unzipped his zipper. She started to talk very loud then he opened the door. This occurred on Sept. 26. Report taken.

THEFT

Oct. 1

3:33 p.m., Fowlers Mill Road, Munson. American flag was stolen along with a brown pole with a light on it. The police flag was torn off the pole and the pole was left on the fence. Homeowner last saw the flags on Saturday and noticed them gone today. It is unknown when they were stolen.

THREATENING

Oct. 3

2:40 p.m., Cloverdale Drive, Middlefield. Neighbor across the street keeps screaming she is going to come and beat me up. This is the third time she has made these threats. Both neighbors were advised to stay away from each other. Report taken.
