A Cleveland Heights man was arrested Friday and charged with trafficking heroin near Newbury High School.
Geauga County Sheriff’s Office detectives were conducting surveillance after receiving information that a man was selling drugs in the area. They observed 19-year-old Savonn Lamount Devonn Primm dealing heroin next to the school at 14775 Auburn Road, said Lt. John Hiscox, public information officer with the sheriff’s office.
Primm and 20-year-old Marche U. Smith, of Maple Heights, were stopped and Smith hid money and heroin “in her body,” Hiscox said. Detectives seized approximately 9 grams of heroin which has a street value of about $1,600.
The pair were arraigned before Judge Terri Stupica in Chardon Municipal Court on Monday. Primm, of 3240 Redwood Road, was charged with trafficking in heroin, a second-degree felony. He posted a $100,000 cash/surety bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
Smith, of 19106 Longview Ave., was charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. She posted a $50,000 cash/surety bond.
