After a month-long investigation, detectives from the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Friday at 15455 Main Market Road in Parkman Township for drug trafficking.
When detectives pulled into the driveway of the residence, Matthew Lee was observed fleeing from the rear of the residence, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Deputy Jim Dhayer deployed his K-9 Miner, who apprehended Lee after attempting to hide under water in a pond, the sheriff’s office said.
Lee was in possession of three loaded handguns, drugs and drug paraphernalia. One of the handguns in his possession was reported stolen from a burglary in Summit County.
Lee was charged with possession of drugs, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence.
He made an initial appearance today in Chardon Municipal Court. Judge Terri Stupica set bond at $5,000 cash or surety.
