Halloween Hayrides
Lake Metroparks Farmpark

Travel down a one-mile trail on a Halloween hayride filled with family-oriented thrills, chills and adventure. Along the way, expect to see the usual and unusual suspects that haunt the woods each year in October.
Ride times are 6:30, 7, 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m. Twilight shows are at 6:30 p.m. every night.
Back by popular demand, there will be a 1/4-mile long haunted trail through festival field. After riding on the wagon, visitors disembark on a journey through a haunted graveyard, a glow tunnel and an enchanted pumpkin patch past scarecrows that come to life. Dress for the weather; rides go rain, snow or shine.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets for ages 2 and older are $6. Children younger than 2 are free and do not require a ticket. Call 440-358-7275 or 800-669-9226 for more information.
Fall Harvest Weekends

These weekends will provide visitors opportunities to enjoy the many family-friendly, hands-on activities that are part ofthe Farmpark’s harvest traditions.
Little farmers can pedal their way on mini tractors through the farm maze in the Visitor Center Exhibit Hall.
Outside, they can navigate the hay maze and play in the kids areas while out in the field the whole family can explore the 3-acre corn maze.
Visitors can get a taste of apple cider and apple butter every weekend and help grind the apples and press the cider to make the next batch.
All Fall Weekend harvest activities are included in the regular Farmpark admission; with the exception of the pumpkins and pony rides, where an additional fee applies. Visit lakemetro

Fall Art Show: “Nature From Three Perspectives”
Penitentiary Glen Reservation

Discover the nature of art from a feminine perspective in this multi-media show featuring Jaymi Zents, Britta Franz and Lisa Ruschman. From lush floral and Italian Renaissance-inspired figures, to modern mosaics and more, this show is a journey of creative expression you won’t want to miss.
The artwork is available for purchase; with proceeds benefitting Nature Center programs.
Penitentiary Glen Reservation is located at 8668 Kirtland-Chardon Road in Kirtland.
Three-acre Corn Maze

Tuesday-Sunday through Oct. 19

The corn is growing tall at Lake Metroparks Farmpark, creating the perfect setting to explore the 3-acre corn maze.
How’s your sense of direction? Here’s a chance to test your skill as you “walk the stalk” through multiple twists and turns in the corn maze.
To help guide you along the way, trivia questions are posted throughout the maze. Only the correct answer will help you proceed to the correct path. A play area is located near the entrance of the maze, including an assortment of farm-themed character cutouts to provide great photo opportunities.

The corn maze is included with regular Farmpark admission. The corn maze is also included with admission to Fall Harvest weekends.
The Wild Days of Winter Game: A Taste of Nature

Nov. 22 through Jan. 4, free
Take a magical journey through the seasons and discover the delicious tastes of nature.
Get in the action and play on our life-sized indoor game board. Take a turn, move along from space to space and be the first to reach the Snow Cone Castle.
Round out your winter adventure with a craft, scavenger hunts and other activities. Enjoy holiday shopping at The Nature Store, where snacks and beverages are also available. Snowshoe rentals, weather permitting.
Exhibit hours are noon to 5 p.m. Open Christmas Eve noon to 3 p.m.; closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Dryland Sled Dog Challenge

Nov. 22 & 23
The Dryland Sled Dog Challenge features a sanctioned race with prizes awarded in each category.
Join mushers and their teams from the United States and Canada as they compete for the best time over a two-mile course. Enjoy the excitement of dogs and humans working together. Take time to meet the dogs and handlers and discover this exhilarating sport open to all breeds of dogs.
Regular Farmpark admission applies.
Farmpark Toy Workshop
Nov. 28-30, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Children (ages 2-11) select from a wall full of wooden toys the one they want to build and sit down with one of Santa’s elves to put the toy together, complete with drills, power screwdrivers, and of course, hammer and nails. The children then paint and glitter their new toy. The Farmpark Toy Workshop is $2 per toy for children, with Farmpark admission.
Country Lights
Lake Metroparks Farmpark
Nov. 28-30 & Dec. 3-23, 5-9 p.m.
Build a wooden toy in Santa’s Workshop, enjoy a wagon ride through thousands of lights; visit Santa in his sleigh, wander through model train and old fashioned toy displays; visit with Farmpark animals, and enjoy special presentations.
Pre-sale for Lake County residents and current Farmpark members begins 8 a.m. Nov. 7. Pre-sale for out-of-county residents and new Farmpark members begins 8 a.m. Nov. 12.
