The Board of Trustees voted to join the Frank Gates Retro Group Retrospective Rating program through the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compen-sation. For a fee of $1,600 we have the opportunity, if this group’s safety performance improves, to recognize significant cost savings in our worker’s compensation costs. With Frank Gates and CareWorks now under the same company umbrella, the fee will also cover our third party administration of claims and risk management by CareWorks.
Monies were approved for continuing education for the Fiscal Officer and Fiscal Officer Assistant. Continuing education is a requirement by Ohio law for these township job positions.
A number of intrafund transfers were also approved. As we get closer to year end, some accounts have insufficient monies, and others have excess funds. Motions are made to adjust account balances so adequate monies are available in each account.
Discussion continued regarding flooding at 306 & Sherman. The Board will discuss ODOT’s recommendations with an affected resident and may also contract with an engineer to complete a hydraulic study to identify possible solutions.
The Chester Recycle Committee will be presenting their research and recommendations at the Oct. 2 trustee meeting.
Please note that Chester Township’s Trick or Treat night has been rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 1, from 6-8 pm due to a conflict with the West Geauga High School football game Oct. 31.
