Baseball Field Renovation
Workers have been taking advantage of the warm weather to renovate the varsity baseball field at West Geauga High School. The field has posed a recurring problem for the district over the years. Despite considerable investments of time and dollars, the field has been plagued with problems.
According to Superintendent Rich Markwardt, “The attempted repairs over the years offered temporary relief but none adequately addressed the problems with grading and drainage that ultimately rendered the field unplayable. The installation of artificial turf in the infield and the reconditioning of the outfield will yield more permanent benefits. We need to fix the field, not apply Band-Aids.”
The project is being funded through the district’s permanent improvement fund.
Lindsey ACE Awards
Congratulations go out to the ACE Award winners for the month at Lindsey Elementary School. Students awarded by their teachers for demonstrating positive attitude, citizenship and effort in the classroom include:
