Chardon City Council unanimously voted Dec. 8 for Chardon Tomorrow to transfer ownership of the Chardon Living Memorial Park to the city. Council’s decision came after fundraising committee member Coco Griffis made an emotional appeal to the city to accept the project. The city and Chardon Schools jointly own the 17 acres on which the park will be built at 220 Basquin Drive. “This park will be a comfort and a place of hope and peace, and a way to continue our healing,” Griffis told council.
