A recent architectural survey revealed Hickox Street in Burton Village could qualify to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Yolita Rausche, of Rausche Historic Preservation in Chagrin Falls, presented a slide show highlighting many of those structures to village council Nov. 28. Completed in September, the 82-page study documents the founding of Burton, its growth along the railroad that ran from Pittsburgh to Painesville in 1873, the Interurban railroad and some industry, such as The Burton Handle Company.
