Dawn Cryberg will share her expertise on gardening smarter with less effort. She shares mistakes to avoid and varied topics that will save time, effort and money in creating a wildly wonderful garden. Gardening and landscaping questions will be answered. Bring a bag lunch.

Genealogy: Birth and Death Records
March 28, 6:30 p.m.
Official birth and death records were not mandated nationwide until 1908. Some states kept records sooner, but if one’s ancestor’s state wasn’t keeping track, don’t despair. Learn which other records to search for earlier birth and death dates.
The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Volunteers from AARP will help file your 2016 federal and state taxes. Appointments are required; call Geauga West to schedule. Bring a copy of 2015 tax returns, all 2016 tax statements; proof of identity and social security card.
Genealogy
April 1, 2-5 p.m.
Attend a two-part, hands-on computer class, Analyzing Census Records and Using Genealogy Software. Learn to analyze an ancestor’s census information column by column. Learn to use free, downloadable software to create a family tree. Basic computer skills are necessary. To create the family tree and to research, bring a name or names of ancestors and the birth, death and marriage dates and places already known. Bring a flash drive to save the family tree.

Business & IT Career Fair
March 28, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A wide range of job opportunities will be available at the Lakeland Community College Business & IT Career Fair at the main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, Building A in room A-2100. The event is free and open to the public.
Job seekers will have the chance to meet many employers face to face all in one day. Participants can submit resumes, speak with the recruiters about their companies, or simply obtain information about careers in business and information technology (IT).
Opportunities will include full-time jobs and internships in various business and IT occupational areas. For information, including a list of attending employers, available positions and career fair success hints, call 440-525-7222.
GEL Breakfast

Maria Dellapina, founder of Specs4Us, will be the guest speaker at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (GEL) breakfast taking place at Kent State University Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road, Burton.
Joining Maria will be Jon Slaybaugh and Dick Coyne, her SCORE mentors who began and conduct their mentoring program out of Kent State Geauga.
Breakfast and networking begin at 7:30 a.m. Free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated.
