Auburn Township has become the 10th local government in Geauga County to join Ohio Checkbook, an internet program from Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel’s office that allows public access to all spending records on a centralized, searchable database. Jeff Heinrich, public affairs representative from Mandel’s office, met with township trustees Monday night to explain the Ohiocheckbook.com program, launched in December of 2014 to make government spending records more transparent and easily accessible to anyone with internet access.
