Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon Kennedy swore in Geauga County Probate/Juvenile Court Judge Timothy J. Grendell as the new President of the Ohio Association of Juvenile Court Judges (OAJCJ)at its annual winter meeting in Columbus on Nov. 30, 2017.
“My goal is to expand the association’s public education efforts which will help strengthen Ohioans’ confidence in the juvenile justice system and highlight the dedication of all juvenile court judges across the state, to not only provide equal and fair justice, but to help the children and families who come before them every day,” Grendell said of his new role.
The OAJCJ consists of common pleas judges having juvenile court jurisdiction across the state of Ohio, and addresses issues affecting juvenile abuse, dependency, and neglect; unruly juveniles (status offenders); and juvenile delinquency, as well as court administration aspects of these issues.
The association works closely with the Ohio Judicial Conference Juvenile Law and Procedure Committee on legislative issues affecting juvenile courts.
