Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce Director Molly Gebler (center, right) presents a $5,000 donation to members of Newbury American Legion Post 663.
The donation will be used for improvements to the Newbury Township Veterans Memorial Park.
“The outgoing of support for this project is overwhelming,” said township Trustee Glen Quigley, who is serving as project coordinator for the veterans park.
“This park is primarily funded by both public and private donations, so all donations are truly valued,” Quigley said. “We’re proud that the CVCC has joined the ever growing list of businesses and individuals who are building a permanent tribute to the service men and women of Newbury Township. These selfless men and women are special individuals who hold a special place in the heart of our community. It’s our privilege to honor them.”
Added Gebler, “We are proud of our chamber members, Impulitti Landscaping and Designs by Dianna, for the work they have done to help with this project.”
The CVCC serves 13 communities in the Chagrin Valley, including Newbury. The chamber hosted two concerts in Newbury and is making plans for a 2018 concert.
In addition, the chamber has provided food for Newbury Township Fire Department for two years now as part of its “We Salute our First Responders Week.”
