Breeders and Feeders

The Breeders and Feeders 4-H Club held a meeting and potluck on Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. in Munson Township Hall. The club handed out member certificates and outstanding member awards.

The club also elected new officers. They are Shane Delbo, president; Garrett Hastings, vice president; Lindsey Jochum, second vice president; Leah Fine, secretary; Emily Skytta, corresponding secretary; Rachel O’Reilly, co-secretary; Brooke Taylor, roll call recorder; Jake Grinstead, treasurer; Isaac Hutchinson, news reporter; Rielly Jochum, historian; Cooper Jochum, photographer; Wyatt Lewis, health chairmen; Quinn Nelson, safety chairmen; Hannah Hutchinson, recreation officer; Mallory Jacobs, community service officer; Garrett Hastings, junior fair board reporter; Aiden Sayre, opening and closing officer; Mike Soltis, Alex Bates and Ethan McCaskey, sergeants of arms; Avery Taylor, sunshine; and Sarah Grinstead, Facebook page officer. Beef and Swine

Geauga Beef and Swine held its first meeting since fair on Nov. 19. Members introduced themselves and said what animal(s) they’d be taking to fair. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved and the treasurer report was given stating how much money the club has.

Reports were given out to each member to do corresponding with their animal. They will be presented at future meetings. Members then discussed the health and safety topic of how they need to get ahead of the winter freeze to ensure everyone is safe and prepared for winter. They then discussed fair and how well they did.

Club members then proceeded to elect officers. They are: Janine Hartory, president; Taylor Poff, vice president; Tatum Poff, secretary; Shannon McFaul and Brandon Christian, newspaper; and Savannah Laurenty, treasurer.

Afterward, members assigned committees, which will bring up ideas of community service projects, windows displays, buyer gifts and barn decorations as well as booths. They discussed club goals to improve the club.

Beef tag in was Dec. 2 from 8-10 a.m. Meeting was then adjourned. The next meeting is Feb. 4. (Submitted by Shannon McFaul, news reporter)
