- Rules of the Road: June 5, 11 a.m. to noon. Trooper Jennifer Detmer, with the Ohio Highway Patrol, will present the rules of the road and how to keep safe. Call 440-279-2131 or 440-279-2126 to register.
- Cooking Demo and Lunch: June 6, noon. Presented by Heather Hill, learn how to cook pork chops with peach salsa, spinach sautéed in garlic and oil, cauliflower mash, raspberry and gelatin mousse and s’more desserts. Registration required; 35 people maximum.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP Chapter 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.
Motivational speaker Tom Strong will speak on lung disorders, including asthma.
There will hold a brief meeting after the program to go over what is happening the next few months.
Food and staples will be collected for the Food for Friends food pantry as well as dog and puppy food, hot dogs and other items for the Geauga Dog Shelter. Monetary donations are also appreciated.

Dinner & Theater at Rabbit Run
June 8
Geauga County senior citizens 60 and over are invited to join fellow seniors from the Geauga Department on Aging for a one night dinner and theater trip to Rabbit Run.The bus departs the West Geauga Senior Centerat 3:30 p.m. and then departs Chardon Senior Center at 4 p.m.
The first stop will be at The Winery at Springhill in Harpersfield Township. Enjoy a wine tasting followed by chicken parmesan dinner with dessert and refreshment from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The group will then travel to the Rabbit Run Theater for the comedic performance of “Harvey” from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
After the show, the bus will return to Chardon Senior Center at approximately 10:15 p.m. and the West Geauga Senior Center at 10:40 p.m.

Senior Trash Pick-Up Days
Senior citizens who live in one of the townships or villages listed below and have unwanted items that need to be picked up at their homes may sign up for trash pick-up days.
Register with the Geauga County Department on Aging (GDA) by the cut-off day or earlier. Once registered, seniors can be placed on the trash pick-up roster. To receive trash pickup assistance, one must be 60 years of age or older and live in the village, township or city holding the pickup.
Huntsburg Township: June 13. Register by June 6.
Parkman Township: June 14 and 15. Register by June 7.
The GDA can no longer go into senior’s homes to pick up unwanted items. Refuse will be picked up from senior’s garages, out buildings and drives.Only 10 household items per home; small items can be consolidated in strong boxes.
For specific allowable trash guidelines or to register for the pickup, call the Department on Aging weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 440- 279-2129 or 440-279-2130. When signing up for pickup, please have a list of items that need to be removed.
