Safety for children enjoying the playground at West Geauga Commons motivated Walter Waetjen to ask Russell Township Trustees for $5,000 June 20. Waetjen, president of the West Geauga Community Joint Recreation Board of Trustees, told township trustees the playground is about 20 years old and needs to be refurbished.
