Amphibians At Affelder
Aug. 12, 1-3 p.m.
Discover dusky salamanders, tadpoles, frogs and other critters like crayfish and dragonflies found in the nearby stream and pond near the Affelder House entrance at The West Woods in Russell Township. The exploration will be outdoors and off trail, so wear shoes that can get wet and/or muddy. Rain gear may also be advisable depending on the forecast. Registration is required.
Grandparents In The Park
Aug. 13, 10-11:30 a.m.
Grandparents and grandchildren 3 and older will enjoy a morning together at Orchard Hills Park in Chester Township. Activities include crafts, games and a short walk around the park.
Registration is required. Bring a snack to share and wear comfortable shoes; no sandals or flip-flops, please.
Time To Celebrate
Aug. 17, 6-9 p.m.
Aug. 18, 12-9 p.m.
Celebrate the official grand opening of Claridon Woodlands with live music, food trucks and family entertainment – plus experience the park’s awesome ropes course, pump track/single mountain bike track, freeform boulder wall, nature-based playground and fishing platform.
All parking will be off-site, east of Claridon-Troy Road on Mayfield Road, with free shuttles ride to/from the event.
