Austinburg Township in Ashtabula County is the home of Cold Spring Orchards, where apples have been grown since 1928.

Donald and Lynn Frank currently operate the orchard and farm market with their sons David and Daniel, David’s wife, Stephanie, and Daniel’s fianc, Sara.

Donald’s father, Charles Frank, planted the original orchard. The orchards currently produce over 20 varieties of apples, including Cortland, McIntosh, Granny Smith, Mutzu, IdaRed and Honeycrisp.

The market features Cold Spring Orchards own fresh pressed, unpasteurized cider, which is available in gallons and half gallons and it now offers apple cider vinegar.

The company sells homemade cookies and makes its own pies, which are frozen and ready for the customers to take home and bake.

At holiday time, Cold?Spring Orchards offer custom designed fruit baskets in many price ranges and in the fall, it grows its own pumpkins, squash and gourds.

The farm market is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week and features many items, including spices, jams, jellies, maple syrup, cheeses, candies and nuts. The season runs from mid-August until April.
