The Good Tidings Benefit Choir is recruiting voices for the free holiday concert for the Geauga Hunger Task Force.
No auditions required, just a willingness to sing challenging Christmas music, including Handel’s “Messiah,” for a great cause.
Anyone aged 14 and up may join.
Practices start Oct. 12 at the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial Chapel at 13000 Auburn Road and will be held from 2-4 p.m. each Sunday until the performances on at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and 3 p.m. Dec. 7.
The GHTF is a volunteer organization whose mission is to ensure no resident of Geauga County goes hungry.
This is accomplished by seven food pantries located throughout the county that provide emergency food. The need for food pantries has doubled since 2007 with the biggest increase in the senior population.
The GHTF is supported by food and monetary donations from the community. Last year, the GHTF served over 3,700 families in need.
