Months of effort and negotiation went down the drain at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday when Cardinal Schools Board of Education voted 3-2 against pursuing a transfer of territory with Ledgemont Schools. The special meeting started at 5 p.m. with the transfer of territory resolution the only action item on the agenda. After a number of comments and questions from a crowd of about 30, board President Ken Klima read the resolution supporting action by the Geauga County Educational Service Center board to transfer all Ledgemont school district territory to the Cardinal school district.
