Financial Education Workshop 2
Sara Shininger, Geauga County Job and Family Services and Terri Worthington, Ohio State University Extension, Geauga County, will present Financial Education Workshop 2 on Feb. 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chardon Public Library.
The workshop will focus on the step by step process to set up a budget. Topics will include establishing credit, how to repair a credit report, credit card debt and identity theft protection.

Book Sale Donations Needed
The annual spring book sale sponsored by the Geauga West Friends of the Library runs March 4-7.
The Friends of the Library are currently accepting donations of new or gently used books, collectibles, comics, audio/video materials, puzzles and games, sheet music, coffee table books and prints. No textbooks or encyclopedias, please.
Donations may be dropped off during regular library hours. A receipt for donations is available.

Landscape Planning
Local gardener Dawn Cryberg will present “Starting from Scratch or Just Renovating: Where to Start and Where to End” Feb. 14 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Chardon Public Library.
Topics include: soils, Topos, aerials, drainage, utilities locations; front yards, back yards, side yards, patios/decks; drawing out plans using photos and aerials; all steps needed in planning whole yard; and drawn plans for front yards of a ranch, two-story or bi-level house. Bring photos of one’s yard or garden property.

College Transfer Fair
Lakeland Community College will host its annual Transfer Fair Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the atrium hallway in A-Building of the main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive in Kirtland.
The fair is an opportunity for students to explore transfer options to another college or university and to find out more about Lakeland’s Holden University Center to obtain a bachelor’s degree without leaving the Lakeland campus.
Members of the public are also invited to take advantage of this convenient and free opportunity to meet with representatives from a variety of colleges and universities.

Health, Social Services Job Fair
Lakeland Community College is holding its 16th annual Health and Social Services Job Fair Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the H-Building on the main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland. The free event is open to the public.
Attendees will have access to recruiters from 28 area hospitals and health and social service organizations. They will be able to network, submit resumes, gather career information and speak with Lakeland career experts.
Job seekers should dress professionally and bring resumes.
