Peaceful Parenting
The Ohio State University Extension in Geauga County offers parenting classes to address every day dilemmas and strategies for peacefully raising children.
Peaceful Parenting, a three-part class for parents of children 0-17 years of age, will be presented by Terri Worthington, family life educator for Ohio State University Extension, April 7, 14 and 21 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the OSU office in Chardon, 470 Center St., Building 6-B.
Cost is $35 per person at the door.

Bloodmobile
American Red Cross blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors may give every 56 days and must bring some form of photo identification and a list of all current medications. Eligible donors with all types are needed, especially those with O negative, A negative and B negative.

Flu Shots Available
The Geauga County Health District has announced its adult flu clinics for adults 19 and older.
Flu shots will be available every Friday during the season from 8:30-11 a.m. at 470 Center St., Building 8, Chardon.
Geauga County Health District will bill most Medicare and employer health plans. The flu vaccinations cost $30 or $40 for high dose vaccine if they are paid for in cash.

2015 Immunization Clinics
The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card. The following is a list of upcoming immunization clinics:

Flu Shots
Lake Health is offering quadrivalent flu shots for $30 at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
No appointment is necessary. Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to receive the seasonal flu vaccine at our centers. The influenza vaccination is covered by Medicare.

Lake-Geauga Educational Ensemble
The Lake-Geauga Training Committee will host a three-day Educational Ensemble March 10-12 at the Mentor Civic Center in Mentor. Counselors, social workers, law enforcement and other professionals can earn low cost continuing education credits.
Some of the workshops being offered are: Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment by Ellen Augspurger, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services; Skills for Management of Suicidal and Self Injurious Behavior by Deanna Brant, Ravenwood Mental Health Center; and Eating Disorders: Signs, Symptoms and Interventions by Melissa Daniele, Positive Education Program.
Participants can register for half day, one day, two day or the full three days of sessions.

Family First Council
Geauga Family First Council will meet at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services building located on 13244 Ravenna Road in Chardon. Meetings are open to the public.

Lake Health will offer free blood pressure checks at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
