Competitive Cheer Takes First
On Nov. 19, some members of the high school cheerleading squad traveled to the University of Pittsburgh to participate in Cheer Day at Heinz Field. Then, on Nov. 20, members of the competitive cheer squad traveled to Massillon for a competition. The group took first place in the High School Small Squad Non-Tumbling Division. Members of the team include Ashley R., Lacey P., Sarah S., Sarah H., Terryan M., Katlyn L., Erika E. and Maddie S. Congratulations, ladies.
Kiwanis Gives Gift Of Reading
On Nov. 21, the East Geauga Kiwanis Club gave every third-grader at Cardinal Intermediate School a paperback book in an effort to help emphasize the importance of reading. The Kiwanis members brought the books to the gym and then allowed the students to pick out whichever one they wanted to take home.
Thank you, Kiwanis, for all you do to support the students and district.
Outstanding Students Recognized
Recently, the East Geauga Kiwanis Club gave recognition to third-graders from Cardinal Intermediate School for being outstanding students as chosen by their teacher. The first quarter outstanding students are: Alyssa D., Elisabeth M., Maggie G., Sypher D., Dakota G., Evan E., Blake S. and Riley H. They all received a certificate and four books.
Congratulations, students, and keep up the great work. A new group will be recognized at the end of the second quarter in January.
